GIVING IS AN ACT OF LOVE

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. -Mark 12:30 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be condemned. -Song of Songs 8:7 Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the first fruits of all your increase.  -Proverbs 3:9

You give to express your love for God and to show gratitude, not just to receive. Giving is an act of love and loving God is worship. Giving is not trading by barter as if God cannot survive if we refuse to give to Him. God is the ultimate giver because He loves us. Yes, there is receiving in giving, but you must understand the principles. You give because you are blessed not because you want to be blessed, not for your needs but the Kingdom’s sake.

You must realize that Christ has made the ultimate sacrifice to meet your most heartfelt need. So there remains no more sacrifice. It is not your giving that meets your needs; it is God. When you give for the Kingdom’s expansion, you make tremendous power available to work on your behalf.

Do I have the maturity that makes my giving an act of love?

Pray: I declare that I love the Lord with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength in Jesus’ name.
