THE POWER OF MONEY

“… Money is the answer to everything. Wisdom and money can get you almost anything, but only wisdom can save your life.” “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
-Ecclesiastes 10:19 (NASB); 7:12 (NLT); Matthew 6:24

There is nothing wrong with appreciating the power of money to influence the future. You can do so much with money, so it shouldn’t be underrated. Even our Lord Jesus Christ recognized how power fully money motivates human behaviour. Money competes with God for our devotion. It is so powerful that Jesus referred to it as a god or master. Satan tempted Jesus and said, ‘all these things: money, wealth… can be yours if only you bow down and worship me.’

Thank God, Jesus didn’t; and so you will not. Therefore, money ought to be our servant and not our master. We are to use money; it shouldn’t use us. Our reverence should be to God and not money, so He grants us wisdom to preserve our lives, so we enjoy the money.

Who holds my allegiance; Jesus or money?

Pray: I declare that the Lord is my master, and money will serve me in Jesus’ name.
