God’s Story in Your Family
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15
Reflection
No book in history has endured like the Bible. Empires have risen and fallen, cultures have shifted, and generations have passed—but the Word of God remains steady, powerful, and alive. Its strength is not only in its divine origin but in the story it tells: the story of a family through whom God brought salvation to the world.
From the very beginning, God chose family as His foundation. Before there were nations, governments, or even the Church—there was family. The story of Noah, the journey of Abraham, the twelve sons of Jacob, and the obedience of Joseph and Mary all reveal a God who works through households to accomplish His purposes.
Matthew begins the story of Jesus not with miracles, but with a genealogy. Why? Because God wants us to see that His plan has always moved through generations. The story of the Savior didn’t begin with Mary; it began in Eden. And today, His story continues through your family.
Your home is not ordinary. Your children are not random. Your family line is not accidental. God is at work—not just in your personal life, but in the lives of those connected to you.
A Prayer for Today
Lord, thank You for my family. Thank You that Your story continues through us. Strengthen me to lead with love, wisdom, and faith. Cover my children with Your protection. Shape their hearts to know You deeply. Let our home be a place where Your presence is felt and Your name is honored. As for me and my house, we will serve You. Amen
